Dedicated server hosting is renting a server from your web hosting provider. The server which hosts your website or any online application is not shared by anyone else, and you have complete control of the machine but not root or admin access.
There are some advantages of dedicated server hosting i.e. You don’t share the server with anyone else; so you have the potential for better security. And you have more control than with shared hosting and you don’t have to buy or support the equipment.
Hardware replacement is covered by the hosting provider. But as usual there are some cons also there in Dedicated Server Hosting.
Although the advantages of dedicated server hosting will more likely outweigh when it comes to dedicated server, it’s always good to closely look at what negative implications they can have. In this article I’m going to share few disadvantages of dedicated server hosting.
Cost in Dedicated Server Hosting
The big disadvantage with a dedicated server hosting is the cost. Dedicated Server Hosting is unlike a shared server hosting, because you need to pay for the entire server. If you are about to host personal blog or small start-ups this is not your choice because you could be investing on a half used server.
Requires bit of Tech Knowledge
If you’re planning to go to Dedicated Server Hosting, you may need bit of tech knowledge. Because few numbers of hosting company assume that your choice of a dedicated server hosting means you know what you’re doing.
But this is not always the case. Also you may need to know, in a dedicated server hosting your website may need to support certain elements by yourself, this also includes the problem may occur. So check with the hosting company what level of tech support you are getting.
Lack of additional features
Dedicated server hosting comes with a lot fewer features than a shared server hosting. In shared server hosting, many hosting companies provides a lot of features and add-ons.
But in dedicated server hosting, you are expected to have and install your own application in to your server. This again can come back to how tech savvy you are, so again, just check what features you’ll be getting with your server.
Scalability Disadvantages in Dedicated Server Hosting
If you are planning to opt dedicated server hosting then another disadvantage comes along with it is; capacity restrictions. In Dedicated Server Hosting you cannot simply increase you hardware or memory capacity. But you need to buy more hardware or another server. This consumes a lot of time while get them arranged.
Above are some of the Disadvantages of Dedicated Server Hosting, so check each faqs and terms and condition before you opt Dedicated Server Hosting.

Hi Navin,
I do not recommend dedicated or VPS servers to a new blogger or any small local business owner, as I am aware they will be able to afford its costing and maintenance expanses.
But for a developed blog around 1000 or more visits requires some extra lift by adding quality to the server. I have already written an article on finding a better hosting if possible just provide your views on it.
Thanks Anways
