Top 10 Factors What Google Considers For Backlinks
In any Search Engine Optimization policy, getting backlinks to your blog or website is considers as an essential part. Backlink becomes one of the key fundamentals Google considers when ranking your website because you must work hard to get a backlink which really pass all the 10 points. The backlink which passes these 10 points will actually boost your rank. 5 or 10 high quality backlinks will give you good ranking in SERPs than hundreds of un-trusted or low quality links.
In today’s post I’m going to list Top 10 backlink factors that Google loves to see.
Backlink factor No. 1 – Age of a Linking Domain
Linking domain’s age is one of the many factors Google likes to see in back linking. If your linking domain’s age is more than a year which will be more trusted by Google and will look less spam. If your linking domain’s age 2-4 years or more it will boost your rank for sure. A good SEO professional will suggest you to get links from domains which are more than a year old.
Backlink factor No. 2 – Linking Domain’s Trust in Google
Google treats trust and age in similar way. If a domain active on internet for longer periods and has been updating frequently it will be trusted more than a site which less updates. Getting backlinks from trusted domain will have positive impact on your backlink building policy.
Backlink factor No. 3 – Linking Site’s Relevancy
In back-linking relevancy always considers an important factor. For example, my blog is about SEO, Technology and social media, and must concentrate on gaining links from SEO, technology or social media related blogs. If your blog has few backlinks from non relevance sites it doesn’t matter but, if you have huge amount of non relevant backlinks Google may think you are into buying backlinks or spamming.
Backlink factor No. 4 – Linking Site’s Authority
Always considers getting backlink from authority sites. For example in Search Engine Optimization field http://searchenginewatch.com/ , http://www.seobook.com or http://searchengineland.com/ sites are known to be one of the best source for useful tips and sources about SEO. These sites are known as authority blogs in SEO field. Getting links from those blogs are almost impossible for anyone, but if you managed to get a single link from those sites or similar sites your blog’s authority will skyrocket in next couple of days.
Also Site Authority comes from age, trust and domain together to create authority. A website’s authority based on amount of mentions it has online.
Backlink factor No. 5 – Domain
Gaining links from domains which are trusted and relevant to your niche are known as themed links and they can really help with rankings in a big way.
Backlink factor No. 6 – Links on dofollow or nofollow
Consider to get backlinks from “dofollow” sites. It’s known that getting backlink from website which has lot of authority but posses “nofollow” tag will not help you much but getting backlink from less authority site with “dofollow” tag will give you more valued backlink.
Backlink factor No. 7 – Your Link’s Position on Linking Site
Position of the link certainly depends when building backlinks. As Matt Cutts says, the links on footer and sidebars less backlink juice than the links on contents and covered with texts. The links covered by contents are known more natural and links on footer or sidebar carry less.
Backlink factor No. 8 – Linking Site’s Content
This factor is similar to one I mentioned above “the relevance“. Get backlink from contents matching to one you have in your site.
Backlink factor No. 9 – Linking Site’s PageRank (PR)
The higher the PageRank the better authority link you will get. If your linking website has PR from 3 or more you will get good in Google’s point of view.
Backlink factor No. 10 – Linking Domain’s Extension
This factor has been in talk since long time. No one still knows whether domain extension matters while building backlinks. But it has been observed that, top publicly unavailable domain extensions like .edu, .gov will give you higher link juice as well as .com, .net and .org.
Final Conclusion:
It’s really difficult to get links from the domain which has all above said qualities, but if you consider trust, relevance and PageRank it will help you. If you practice above said top 10 factors of backlinks you will rank higher is SERPs.
